After months of planning the day is finally here!
To keep in theme with our baby announcement we thought it appropriate to have a reveal-styled baby shower. To see what we did for our baby announcement click here. Selecting a theme and deciding on food for our guests was really easy, hubby and I are huge on antipasti, and celebrating milestones with sweets & cake is a family tradition. Additionally, using a cake was an adorable (and very tasty) way to reveal our baby’s sex. I put together simple hues for our showers colour aesthetics. Soft, with masculine accents and an influence of spring. Vintage wood, mint, peach & ivory.
If you are planning to host your own baby shower be sure to enlist some extra hands. It’s easy to get sidetracked, having additional support will keep you organised and everyone on track. We are so appreciative to those who helped us pull-off our special event, you know who you are xo.
Look how pretty it all turned out!
We visited our favourite deli Ontrays and selected a few sweet, salty, savoury and bitter elements for our platters. Our abundant antipasti set-up was a hit! Antipasto style foods are tasty and colourful offerings your guest will love. With an array of different options there will be something to suit all tastes and crafting the perfect platter doesn’t have to be expensive.
There was not a doubt in my mind, having both seen and tasted her work, that Grace from Sweet Bakery & Cakery would be the one to forge our reveal-cake. Our gourmet chocolate cake was covered in an exquisite ivory buttercream frosting with a rustic finish, concealing a mint or peach layered cream within. Mint for a ‘Mister’ & Peach for a ‘Miss’! To complete, Grace also ordered in a custom made, bespoke cake topper. A magical looking final touch to our stunning cake!
To chaperone our beautiful cake we also ordered delicious meringues, vanilla frosted chocolate cupcakes & Sweet Bakery & Cakery’s infamous salted caramel marshmallows. A family of ivory coloured treats to further embellish our sweets table, and boy oh boy were they scrumptious.
Unfortunately, the ‘mint’ for a mister didn’t show up too-well in the pictures, however, every moment of our joy and expression of excitement was certainly captured!
Keep an eye out next week. I will be sharing a post about our custom designed invitations created by the one and only Fox and the Hare – One enchanted little designer (formerly known as Wendy Maree Collection) who if you have followed my wedding posts, you would have already noted was responsible for our swoon-worthy wedding stationery.
THANK YOU! From the bottom of our hearts to those of you who witnessed our reveal. We were spoilt with gifts and are even more spoilt with your love, your friendships and presence in our lives.
We can’t wait to meet our son.
