If you’re anything like me you love to take photos. This also means however you’re never really in them. Fortunately, I often get the opportunity to collaborate with epically talented photographers for the blog. Additionally, I get to call on my Instagram husband (don’t tell him I said that) to take pictures. A month or so before my birthday I was trying to find an image to post of my little family and I. Much to my dismay, there weren’t very many of the four us together. I made a promise to myself then and there to come out from behind the lens more. At that time I did not realise the beginning of a new family tradition was being born.
I love documenting my journey as a wife and mother. Its like being the author of your own novel and long after you’re gone, your story remains. Saying goes, A picture is worth a thousand words. Well as far as I am concerned, family pictures are worth a heck-load more, priceless!
On my birthday this year husband spoilt me with an incredible day spent wining and dining at the luxurious Wharekauhau Lodge. You seriously have to see how stunning this little heaven on earth really is. If you havent watched my birthday vlog you certainly must. We also thought my birthday was a most opportune moment to tie-in a family photoshoot. Enter, the ridiculously gifted Candy Capco Photography. I have had the privilege to work alongside Candy and Jay on numerous occasions and its always an enlightening experience. It truly was a dream come true to have the duo shoot our very first family photoshoot, a ‘pinch-myself’ kinda moment. True artists at their craft, inspiring and just so warming to be around.
My boys and I enjoyed our photoshoot so much that we decided to make it an annual event. Since my children wont stop growing and time is flying what better way to freeze the hands of time and reflect. Not only do I want to remember these precious moments, I also want to be remembered.
Candy Capco Photography didn’t make this blog post easy, it was impossible to shortlist favourites.
I literally chose the photographs for this post like,
Eeny meeny miny MO!…
Already anticipating next years family photoshoot!
