Recently my husband was invited to speak at the IOC conference held in Monaco. I couldn’t be prouder accompanying my husband as a guest in this breathtakingly beautiful country. I felt a little like Alice in Wonderland. Down the rabbit hole, in a peculiar fantasy land, cloaked by France and the Mediterranean Sea. Monaco is tiny in magnitude (being the worlds second smallest country) however for what it lacks in size it makes up in demeanour, luxury and charm. History is soaked within the narrow picturesque streets and bygone days are still hauntingly apparent in the Belle Époque buildings. For traveller’s it’s a bucket-list location, but to really experience Monaco’s charm spending several days there is highly recommended.
Location: While thrill-seeking and wandering the principality of Monaco we stumbled across the adorable Japanese Gardens. One of many landmarks in Monaco honouring the late Princess Grace Kelly. You’ll notice both tourists and locals enjoying its peaceful atmosphere. Meditating in the zen garden, seeking shade near the teahouse or Snap-chatting near the waterfall. The serene milieu most definitely merits a visit. Too cute of a scenery, we had to capture my outfit of the day!
Outfit: The days where tiered dresses are more suited to cocktail and formal events are gone! I was daring in the daylight, dressing down the frills with my Portmans leather biker jacket and slip-on espadrilles from Asos. I picked up this dress on sale from Seed Heritage one of my favourite places to shop. Eye candy, Prada, thanks to Sunglass Hut. Later that day hubby and I were photographed for our 2nd wedding anniversary (coming to the blog veddy-soon!). A classic pair of black strappy heels transitioned the outfit from day to night, perfect for our anniversary celebrations planned at Nobu Monte Carlo that evening.
Photographer: This post was a collaboration with international photographer and friend Tony Gigov Photography. Tony is an awe-inspiring wedding photographer hailing from Vienna, Austria. With a remarkable portfolio including works commissioned globally that feature in numerous publications and online wedding inspiration websites. I will be sharing more about Tony on my upcoming anniversary post. For now, I am beyond thrilled to announce New Zealand is on the cards for Tony Gigov Photography. See you, love you, bye!
