3 STEPS TO DOUBLE-CLEANSING

So you know all about the double-cleansing phenomenon.

You know about the benefits i.e. dissolves makeup, sunscreen, sweat and deeply purifies pores of residual oil and grime. But you’re still not sure about the ‘extra‘ work? I’ve been double-cleansing with Dermalogica’s PreCleanse Balm for going on 4 months now, admittedly, it did take me several weeks to find a rhythm. I get it! Us mums’s already have 101 things to do before bedtime and now we have to wash our faces twice?! Heres the thing, you’re already a multi-tasking powerhouse, you’d swear there where like, 5 of you, and double cleansing, pffffffft, it’s only going to add an extra 1-2 minutes to your cleansing routine. You got this! Besides, your skin will thank you for it.

Lets be honest, I don’t have great skin because of one magical balm, there’s a plethora of skin products I use in addition to the PreCleanse Balm. HOWEVER! Great skin did start with PreCleanse Balm. It wasn’t until I began to double-cleanse all the additional serum’s, moisturiser, and oils I invested in started to do their jobs. Here is where I admit I could be wrong about all the products I threw in the bin, the products I called dud’s.

It wasn’t them, it was me?!?!?…. The shame of it all.

Below I thought I’d share 3 Steps to double-cleansing success, to either get you back on the bandwagon or be the last little bit of encouragement you need to get started. No time like the present!

Step 1 – Disperse a small amount of PreCleanse Balm onto the silicone cleansing mitt (this comes in the package with your balm) add more product if necessary. Apply on dry skin and use circular motions to massage the balm over entire face, including the eye area, right up to the hairline and down past your jawline. If you’re wearing makeup you’ll instantly see it begin to lift. Ba-BYE waterproof mascara!

Step 2 – Rinse hand’s of product and apply a splash of water to your face and neck. Use your finger tips and/or mitt to massage and emulsify the oil into a milky consistency (add a little more water if necessary). At this stage pay special attention to the pores around the nose, forehead, chin and jawline. Massage for around 30-45 seconds and then rinse.

Step 3 –  Now finish off your double-cleansing regime with your preferred cleanser. I am currently using Dermalogica Special Cleansing Gel. Your final cleanse will remove remaining traces of PreCleanse Balm and leave your skin feeling fresh, looking radiant and deeply cleansed.

What do you think of my Louvelle shower-cap? I bet you thought it was a hair turban, don’t dare me! I could totally where it out it’s so pretty! It’s super comfy and quick drying with a waterproof lining. Shop the range at Sable.

Until next!

See you, love you, BYE!
